The 2011 Thailand open in Pattaya finished with the three favourites tied in the lead. Jan Gustafsson (in the photo), Nigel Short, Francisco Vallejo finished on 7.5/9 with the German getting the nod on tie-break.

  • Thirty nationalities were present amongst the 141 players.

 

  • Although Gustafson was declared champion, the main three prizes totaling 220,000 Baht (= €5000 or US $7300) was shared equally amongst the top three. 
  • Here were the standings at the top of the table.
