Shenzhen Women's Grand Prix

Hou Yifan against Ruan Lufei
In the latest Women's Grand Prix, Hou Yifan is the top seed, and local hero in an event taking place in Shenzhen, China. The twelve participants need to finish as high as possible in the table to obtain good Grad Prix points. At the end of the series of six events, the leading player will get a chance to challenge Hou Yifan in a match for the World Championship.

Hou Yifan is such an important media asset for any tournament in China that the organizers delayed the start of the event by a week to enable her to play in Khanty Mansiysk, and still be back in time to participate here. Shenzhen is the second in the present series of Grand Prix events.

The time limit is the one we are accustomed to in FIDE events:

90'/40 moves (+30" increment), then 30' (+30" increment) KO.
