Vachier-Lagrave top gun in Hoogeveen

The 14th Unive tournament in Hoogeveen (Netherlands) was won by the Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrave with three wins and three draws.

Three wins in a row swung the tournament in the Frenchman's favour.

The rate of play was 40 moves in 90 minutes, then 30 minutes for the remaining moves, with an increment of 30 seconds by move throughout. This is becoming more or less the standard one in most high profile FIDE-rated events.
