A narrow victory over Hungary, due to Movsesian's scrappy victory, has enabled Armenia to go three points clear. Wang Hao beat Sergey Karjakin in a double-edged fight, thus enabling the home fans to see the Chinese beat Russia. The USA beat Azerbaijan, including a notable board four victory for 50-year-old Yasser Seirawan over Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.
